Tuition Costs
The U.S. News provides an overview of the cost of attending New York University Tandon based on 2021 data. In their article they explain that, "The application fee is $90 for U.S. residents and $90 for international students. Its tuition is full-time: $2,021 per credit and part-time: $2,021 per credit."
The lowest amount credits a student can take is 16 and if each credit cost $2,021 according to the U.S. News, then the cost for a semester is at minimum approximately $32,336. Note that this approximation does not consider fininacial aid being given to support students.
From the College Factual, this graph depicts the net price trend for tuition of New York University. As stated in the image, "Both total costs and net price have increased at rates of 3.6% and 2.7%, respectively" from 2011 to 2021. Likely this upward trend will continue into the future based on the data of this graph.
In 2015, an incoming New York University freshman Nia Mirza started a petition on Change.org demanding NYU to lower its price after receiving a bill with an estimated costs of $70,000 for the full year. The cost of attendance (annual) was suddenly raised after students payed the enrollment deposit.
NYU Vice President of Public Affairs John Beckman respones to the tuition changes from the current to upcoming academic year, explaining that:
"Part of what the students are able to see now online in their accounts is the difference between this year's tuition and fees and next year's: an annual tuition increase of approximately 3% — in line with recent annual increases at NYU and other private research universities — that reflect increases in our cost of operations."
